The Tanzania Association of Women Journalists (TAMWA), in collaboration with the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), has announced a change in the date and location for the Samia Kalamu Awards 2025 ceremony, which honors Development Journalism.
Originally scheduled for April 29, 2025, at the Mabele Hall in the Mabeyo Complex in Dodoma, the event will now take place on May 5, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, with the specific venue to be announced shortly.
According to a joint statement from TAMWA's Executive Director, Dr. Rose Reuben, and TCRA's Director General, Dr. Jabiri Bakari, all previously invited guests will receive new invitations detailing the updated location and complete schedule for the event.
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to be the guest of honor at this significant event, which aims to recognize and celebrate the contributions of journalists to the nation's development.
TAMWA and TCRA have apologized to all participants for any inconvenience caused by these changes and encourage everyone to remain actively involved in the preparations for the ceremony.
