Poem of the week : Malaria

Children in Africa

From that tree, I spotted a living creature that changes like a chameleon

‎From that research, the creature appeared to adapt to its surroundings

‎A being that destroys seeds sprouting from young to mature

Malaria remains a significant issue in Africa

‎Through our eyes, we observe

‎There is still additional innovation to soften the path

Malaria! The global affliction

‎We have yet to cross the river

‎And the water is nearing our necks

‎I long to see another way because the path filled with insects has negative effects on creativity

‎Every time I dream, I say my path! Where did I lose it

‎Little children (0-10) Malaria takes me away

‎I continue to say there is another way

‎Although there are companies saving children, it is due to grace and the ability to see further,

‎I cry! I cry! I cry!

The disease of malaria brings fear like a barrier to vision

‎But I believe, intention improves pathways and systems

‎The poet is elaborating the  themes of observation, adaptation, and ongoing struggle, with a focus on nature and human challenges in Africa .The tree and the living creature that changes like a chameleon is able adapt in any environment especially mosquitoes. It reflects how some beings or people, must adapt to their environment to survive, also the idea of protecting our environment is important in attracting innovation, investment and technology. Sometimes disease like Malaria act as a barrier in fostering innovation among youths .So there is a great need to protect our environment from being affected by diseases , because safe environment is always a catalyst in promoting research and innovation.

‎The creature's ability to adapt show resilience, but the mention of it "destroying seeds"   imply that adaptation may sometimes come at a cost, like disrupting growth or progress. The reference to " malaria remaining a significant issue in Africa"  underscores ongoing health challenges that affect communities, highlighting the importance of awareness and action.

‎The idea of observing through "our eyes" points to awareness and perception, emphasizing the need for insight. The closing lines about "additional innovation" is emphasizing hope and encouragement for continuous efforts to improve and ease the burdens faced by communities in Africa.
