This song began with a collaboration featuring Diamond Platnumz and became a hit not just in Tanzania, but across Africa and the globe. It later included artists like Patoranking and Zlatan, amassing over seven million views to date. In 2021, a remix was released with Colombian artist Maluma, which performed exceptionally well, reaching over 56 million views.
Now, he has once again captured the world's attention with the same song, revisiting it for the third time alongside Indian artists Nora Fatehi and Shreya Ghoshal. This track achieved the number one spot globally for the most viewed video within 24 hours.
'Tetema' continued to showcase its magic on the international stage when Rayvanny performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in 2021, sharing the stage with Maluma.
That same year, he made history as the first artist from Tanzania to reach number one on the Billboard Mexico Airplay charts with the song 'Mama Tetema' (2021), marking his second entry into those charts after previously making waves on the Billboard Top Triller Global Chart alongside Nigeria's DJ Cuppy.
According to YouTube and international music statistics, the video garnered 7,402,890 views within 24 hours, surpassing tracks from global stars like Bruno Mars & ROSÉ, Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Ed Sheeran.
This marks the first time a Tanzanian artist has claimed the number one spot on the Most Viewed Videos list worldwide within that timeframe.
The song 'Ooh Mama Tetema' features collaborations with artists from Africa and Asia, including the renowned Indian actress and dancer Nora Fatehi, and Shreya Ghoshal, one of Bollywood's top singers.
This collaboration has propelled the track to success not only across Africa but also globally.
