The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony held in Paris on Monday night honored some of the biggest names in football, featuring Arsenal forward Viktor Gyökeres and Spain's manager Luis Enrique among the top awardees.

Gyökeres, who showcased exceptional performance last season while leading Sporting Lisbon’s attack before his transfer to Arsenal this summer, received the Gerd Müller Trophy for the best striker of the year. His impressive goal-scoring achievements outshone numerous elite forwards across Europe for this prestigious award.

Luis Enrique of Spain celebrated a remarkable year by winning the Men’s Johan Cruyff Trophy for Best Coach of the Year, having led his national team to victory in Euro 2025. On the women’s side, England’s manager Sarina Wiegman was honored with the corresponding coaching award.

In the goalkeeper category, Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, Manchester City) took home the Men’s Yashin Trophy, while Hannah Hampton (England, Chelsea) was awarded the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy.

Young talent also shone brightly as Barcelona’s emerging stars dominated the Kopa Trophies — with Lamine Yamal being named the best young male player and Vicky López winning the women’s award.

The Club of the Year awards highlighted dominance at both domestic and continental levels: Paris Saint-Germain emerged victorious in the men’s category, while Arsenal Women were celebrated in the women’s category.

The dazzling Paris gala once again highlighted the global reach of football excellence, with Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG, and Spain’s national teams standing out as some of the evening’s biggest winners.
