The NMB Bank, in collaboration with the University of Dar es Salaam's Business Faculty, has recognized the top ten students from ten different courses who completed their studies this year during a special awards ceremony.
This event celebrated their academic achievements and the significant efforts that led to their success.
The ceremony took place a day before the university's graduation festivities, where cash prizes, certificates, and internship opportunities were awarded to the winners by NMB Bank.
Representatives from the bank praised the hard work of the graduates and the university as a whole for their commitment to nurturing talent and professional development.
On behalf of NMB Bank, the guest of honor at the event, Joanitha Mrengo, Head of Human Resources at the NMB Banking Expertise Center, expressed the bank's pride in supporting various youth initiatives, particularly those focused on education that will produce skilled professionals for the benefit of the nation.
"It is a great honor for us to participate in recognizing the diligence and efforts of these young individuals," Joanitha said.
"Today, we witness their discipline, perseverance, and academic excellence yielding appropriate results. NMB Bank will create opportunities ranging from employment to internships, which we believe will enable these professionals to thrive in the job market."
Mrengo added that NMB Bank continues to take pride in the strong partnership between the financial institution and the University of Dar es Salaam, as they have accomplished much together, including providing students with opportunities to learn while studying at the bank, thus contributing to the production of more professionals in the financial sector.
"In addition to the workplace training that our winners will receive today, we have been collaborating with the University of Dar es Salaam to continue offering practical training for the students of this institution. We also have significant agreements to continue cooperating on technological matters," Mrengo said.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Professor Nelson Boniface, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Our partnership with NMB Bank enhances the quality of education we provide and significantly contributes to the nation's development. Together, we are shaping leaders who will drive Tanzania's progress."
The Deputy Vice Chancellor also pointed out that the University of Dar es Salaam will engage various experts, including those from NMB, to deliver specialized lectures, equipping students with practical knowledge in their fields.
These efforts aim to provide students with academic education alongside real-world skills, broadening their perspectives beyond the classroom and preparing them effectively for future challenges.
The Head of the Student Affairs Department, Professor Omary Mbura, described NMB's role as a deep partner: "NMB Bank has been supporting us not only through financial assistance but also by actively participating in our academic and community projects," he said.
