The Taifa Stars will face Morocco tomorrow in the Round of 16 of this year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).
The match, which is crucial for advancing to the quarter-finals, will take place in Rabat at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
The hosts, Morocco, advanced from the group stage with two wins and one draw.
In their opening match, they defeated Comoros 2-0, followed by a 3-0 victory over Zambia, and then a 1-1 draw against Mali.
On the other hand, the Stars have made history by reaching the Round of 16 for the first time in the African Football Confederation (AFCON 2025) tournament.
Under the guidance of Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi, the Stars progressed from the group stage as one of the 'best losers' after drawing two of their three matches.
In their first game, the Stars lost 2-1 to Nigeria, then managed to secure a 1-1 draw in their next two matches against Uganda and Tunisia.
However, as they prepare for the match against Morocco, the Stars do not have a favorable record against the North African football giants.
In eight encounters, Morocco has won seven times, including a 3-0 victory the last time the two teams met.
Football fans in the country are looking forward to seeing Taifa Stars compete to ensure they advance past this crucial stage against the hosts, Morocco.
