His rise to fame began with the group Yamoto Band, which included Aslay, Beka Flavour, Enock Bella, and himself. Together, they formed Yamoto Band under the guidance of Mkubwa Fella .
After Yamoto Band
After the disbandment of Yamoto Band, Mbosso chose to return to his home village in Kibiti. There, he engaged in various community activities to improve his life, and it also provided him with a unique opportunity to prepare for his return to the Bongo Flava music scene. This situation was somewhat different from that of Aslay and Beka Flavour, who continued to thrive in the music industry until Diamond Platnumz deemed it the right time to bring Mbosso back into the music scene, fulfilling a promise made in 2014 to help him gain recognition in Bongo Flava. Mbosso's first single was released on January 28, 2018, titled Watakubali.
On January 29, he was introduced to the audience as a full-fledged artist who had signed a contract with WCB.
In 2020, Mbosso hit 1 million subscribers on YouTube and became one of the four Tanzanian musicians with over a million subscribers. He was awarded the YouTube Golden Plaque.
In 2021, Mbosso released his debut studio album, Definition of Love. It was released on 9 March and featured artists such as Diamond Platnumz, Njenje Band, Mr Flavour, Rayvanny, Liya, Darassa, Spice Diana and Baba Levo.
Mbosso released his first EP in November 2022, titled Khan, which was described by Peter Choge from Music In Africa as a beautiful collection of romantic love songs.
The EP is also one of the most streamed Tanzanian EPs on Boomplay, having acquired more than 50 million streams on the platform.
In 2023, Mbosso became one of the few Tanzanian artists to clock 200 million streams on Boomplay.
To date, Mbosso has released popular songs such as Watakubali, Nimekuzoea, Alele, Shida, Picha Yake, Hodari, Nipepe, Hodari, and Tamu.
Mbosso, a Bongo Flava artist from Tanzania, has released numerous songs that have resonated with fans. In March 2021, he launched his debut album titled Definition of Love, featuring 12 tracks and collaborations with various artists.At the mid of 2025 , He left his former label ( WCB) and started a new label with his own team know as " Khan Music Label"
In 2025, Mbosso hit more than three million subscribers on YouTube, Mbosso is considered as a top artist in East Africa . He has released a hit song called "pawa " which gained more views on YouTube (more than 60 million views ) , he released the song through his own label commonly known as " Khan Music Label" . Other song includes , Nusu saa , Aviola ,Asuman , siko single and Darasa la Saba.
