Tanzania’s U-17 national team, the Serengeti Boys, will step onto the pitch tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to face Senegal in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 AFCON Morocco 2026 in Rabat.
The championship match is scheduled for 4:00 PM local time at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat—that’s 10:00 PM Tanzania time.
Tanzania has made history by reaching their first-ever U-17 AFCON final, after edging out Egypt 4-3 on penalties following a tense goalless draw in regulation time. This success highlights the remarkable growth of youth football in the country, especially after Tanzania won the CAF African Schools Football Championship for boys in both 2024 and 2025.
Senegal, meanwhile, secured their spot in the final with a hard-fought penalty shootout victory over hosts Morocco, winning 7-6 after a 1-1 draw in front of a packed crowd in Rabat.
Now, Tanzania will be chasing their maiden U-17 AFCON title, while Senegal aims to reaffirm their reputation as one of Africa’s top talent developers at youth level.
Ahead of Tuesday’s final, Morocco and Egypt will meet earlier on Monday, June 1, 2026, in the third-place playoff.
All four semi-finalists—along with Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mali, Algeria, Mozambique, and Uganda—have already secured qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to take place later this year in Qatar.
