NMB Plc has been named the Best Bank in Tanzania for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, recognized for its contribution to financing, digital payments, transactional services, and business advisory.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Peninsula Hotel in London, United Kingdom, and was received on behalf of the bank by Alex Mgeni, Head of Business Banking at NMB Bank.
NMB Bank’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ruth Zaipuna, said the win is a recognition of the entrepreneurs who continue to build businesses, create jobs, and drive Tanzania’s economy.
Empowering small and medium-sized enterprises is a key focus area in NMB’s Agenda 2030, which will be implemented from 2026 to 2030. This strategy aligns with the National Development Vision 2050, which aims to build a competitive private sector, increase business formalization, and stimulate sustainable growth.
NMB Bank, which serves businesses across all 31 regions of Tanzania, said it will continue to expand lending, digital payments, and business solutions that help entrepreneurs strengthen cash flow, build formal financial records, and reach new markets.
