The film industry has continued to break revenue records worldwide, with a few films managing to cross the $2 billion mark in ticket sales.
As of August 2026, films from popular franchises such as Avatar, Avengers, Star Wars, and Spider-Man continue to dominate the list of the highest-grossing films of all time.

This Marvel Cinematic Universe film broke numerous records after grossing over $2.79 billion worldwide, making it one of the most successful films in cinema history.

The sequel to Avatar continued to perform well at the box office, collecting over $2.33 billion worldwide.
