YANGA has successfully advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after eliminating Botswana's Gaborone United with an aggregate score of 3-2 over two matches.
They sealed the deal with a 2-1 victory in the return leg held at Azam Complex, Chamazi, following a 1-1 draw in the first match played in Gaborone, Botswana.
In the return leg, Yanga started strong, scoring their first goal in the seventh minute through their striker Shalulile, and Touré added a second goal in the 83rd minute.
Gaborone United responded in the 86th minute with a goal from Ditsele, but it wasn't enough to prevent Yanga from progressing, as the two teams concluded the 180 minutes with a total of 3-2.
The next challenge for Yanga will be against CFFA FC from Madagascar in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
This victory has bolstered Yanga's hopes in their quest for a spot in the group stage of this prestigious club competition in Africa.
