TADB's 400 Million Shillings Contribution at Nane Nane Events

The Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) has been recognized for its role in stimulating the growth of the agricultural sector in the country through loans for inputs and farming equipment provided to farmers nationwide.

‎Speaking to reporters today, July 31, 2025, in Dodoma, shortly after receiving a symbolic check from the main sponsor of the National Nanenane event worth 400 million shillings, issued by the Agricultural Development Bank (TADB), the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Jerald Mweli, said  that the ' Sixth Phase Government ' through the Agricultural Development Bank, is undertaking significant efforts to empower farmers with low-interest loans to enhance productivity.

‎"This year's Nanenane will coincide with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Agricultural Development Bank of Tanzania (TADB), which has played a crucial role in bringing about reforms in the agricultural sector," emphasized Mweli.

‎ "During the exhibition, various activities will take place, including conferences, services from financial institutions for farmers, and educational sessions for farmers will be provided." he added .

‎On his part, the Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Frank Nyabundege, said that the political will of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has enabled the bank to be among the largest banks in the country.

‎He explained that the agricultural sector employs over 70% of Tanzanians, thus making a significant contribution to economic growth.

‎"The Agricultural Development Bank is a leader in providing loans in the agricultural sector aimed at enabling farmers to increase productivity and collaborates with 19 banks to offer low-interest loans to farmers with the intention of boosting the agricultural sector," Nyabundege emphasized.

‎Citing the bank's achievements, he added that it has increased in size, reaching a value of 1.2 trillion shillings due to investments made by the Sixth Phase Government since it took office in 2021.

‎Funding has been provided by financial institutions for the agricultural sector. Mr. Nyabundenge stated that it has exceeded 4 trillion shillings during President Samia Suluhu Hassan's term.The Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) is collaborating with 19 banks to offer low-interest loans to farmers across the country, aiming to enhance the agricultural sector and improve the livelihoods of farmers in a thriving economy.
