Famous Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, known as Davido, and his long-time partner Chioma Rowland have tied the knot, with their grand wedding taking place in Miami, Florida, USA.
The delightful event, held yesterday on August 11, 2025, marked the culmination of a love story that has lasted a decade, captivating millions of people around the globe.
At the wedding, Chioma's parents were notably absent due to alleged visa issues preventing their entry into the country.
Previously, the couple had engaged in a traditional marriage in March 2023, followed by a cultural ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, in June 2024.
The wedding in the United States included the artist's family, friends, political figures, prominent global businesspeople, and renowned artists from various regions. Among the wealthy attendees was Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man and Davido's godfather, who reportedly flew in just 72 hours after attending another high-profile wedding in Iceland.
Other guests included Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State and Davido's uncle. Musicians present at the event included Adekunle Gold, Teni, D’banj, and American gospel legend Kirk Franklin.
The celebration cost a staggering $3.7 million. During his speech, Davido, who was born in the United States and is currently riding high with hits like ‘Assurance’, ‘Unreachable’, and ‘Fall’, praised his wife Chioma with these heartfelt words: “You are my lover, my peace, my home. You came into my life quietly and became the loudest and most beautiful part of it. You saw the real me, the one the world doesn’t see, and still chose me.”
