How the TACTIC Project is Revolutionizing Musoma

Construction contracts were signed today during a ceremony held in Musoma, involving the development of the modern Bweri Bus Terminal, the Nyasho Modern Market, and several urban roads stretching over 3 kilometers, including Mukendo, Shabani, and Musoma Bus–Saanane.

The contractor executing the work is Henan Highway Engineering Group Company Limited, with costs exceeding 19.9 billion shillings excluding VAT, and the project is expected to be completed within 15 months starting from August 15, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Engineer Emmanuel Manyanga, Assistant Project Coordinator for TACTIC on behalf of the TARURA Chief Executive, stated that these projects aim to enhance transportation and business services, reduce flooding challenges, create jobs, and stimulate the economic growth of Musoma.

Upon completion, the Bweri Terminal will have the capacity to accommodate 42 buses, 50 minibuses, 50 tuk-tuks, and 20 motorcycles, along with the presence of a police station, rest areas, and modern water and energy systems.

The Nyasho Market will feature 260 shops, 432 stalls, and a dining area for up to 100 food vendors, a police station, and excellent environmental conservation infrastructure, with municipal revenue expected to rise from 57 million shillings per year to 250 million shillings.

The TACTIC project is being implemented in 45 cities across the country, with goals to improve infrastructure, strengthen urban planning, and enhance the economic competitiveness of local authorities.
