The Regional Commissioner of Arusha, Hon. CPA Amos Gabriel Makalla, met today, Thursday, September 11, 2025, with the Acting U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania, Ambassador Andrew Lentz. He assured him of the safety and friendly investment and tourism environment in Arusha.
During their discussion, CPA Makalla thanked Ambassador Lentz for their cooperation and significant contributions to Tanzania's development, especially in the tourism sector. He pointed out that Arusha and Tanzania as a whole benefit from a large number of tourists from the United States, urging him to continue encouraging American citizens to visit and invest in the country.
"Arusha has a high level of political stability, peace, and security, which allows our citizens to focus on their development activities. Therefore, I assure any American citizen and those from other countries that there is no reason to worry about visiting the tourist attractions in Arusha or coming to invest and do business. My office is open and ready to cooperate with anyone looking to invest and tour in Arusha," said Hon. Makalla.
Ambassador Lentz praised CPA Makalla for his commitment to implementing government directives aimed at boosting tourism, which increases the income of Arusha and the nation as a whole. He highlighted the importance of enhancing security in Arusha and his efforts to facilitate business operations through the Namanga border by improving security and promoting the availability of scanners at that border to reduce the time it takes for visitors and goods to be processed when entering the country.
The leaders also discussed the possibility of establishing a Bio-Agricultural Technology Corridor to improve production in the agricultural sector, enhance food security, and create a thriving and sustainable agricultural sector by developing an ecosystem that benefits the farmers of Arusha and the U.S. market.
