The Tanzanian government has  officially launched the digital ' Tanzania Chamber Portal' (TCP) during the Annual Business and Investment Dialogue Conference 2026.

‎The portal, developed by the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (TNCC), aims to simplify access to business services, reduce procedural challenges, and enhance efficiency for traders nationwide.

‎The TCP serves as a one-stop digital platform enabling businesses to access various services, including obtaining Certificates of Origin, reporting non-tariff barriers, and retrieving crucial business information. By digitizing these processes, the government seeks to reduce paper usage, increase transparency, cut service delivery times, and lower business costs—particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have faced significant hurdles in accessing services and information.

A key feature of the portal is its integration with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Single Window System, facilitating electronic data and document exchange between various government institutions.

‎Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba emphasized that Tanzania’s economic transformation relies on strong collaboration between the government and the private sector.

‎"The future of Tanzania’s economy is in our hands, but more importantly, it depends on the strength, innovation, and courage of the private sector. No country has achieved major economic transformation without a robust and competitive private sector supported by the government," he said.

‎Minister of Industry and Trade Judith Kapinga noted that the portal’s launch marks a shift from policy planning to actual service delivery for businesses.

‎ "This system is not just a digital tool but part of broader efforts to make business services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of traders across the country," she said.

‎The Tanzania Chamber Portal was developed under the Tanzania Gateway for Trade, Transport and Environment (T-GATE) project, funded by the European Union through its Global Gateway Initiative, with the goal of improving trade, transport, and the investment environment in Tanzania.

‎TNCC President Vicent Bruno Minja described the portal as part of the chamber’s reforms to enhance service delivery and strengthen the private sector’s role in Tanzania’s economic growth.

‎"By bringing essential services online, we are making it easier for traders and investors to access support, resolve challenges, and participate more effectively in Tanzania’s economy," he said.

‎Acting Country Director of TradeMark Africa Tanzania, Solomon Michael, added that digital systems should deliver tangible results for businesses by simplifying service access, resolving challenges, and increasing certainty in trade operations.

‎The launch is seen as part of Tanzania’s broader efforts to integrate customs systems, certification, licensing, and business services to reduce procedural redundancies, lower transaction costs, and boost Tanzania’s competitiveness in regional and international trade.
