Miss World Tanzania 2026, Latricia Ian Sawe, has officially embarked on her journey to Vietnam to represent Tanzania at the 73rd Miss World Festival. The event is scheduled from August 9 to September 5, 2026, with the grand finale on September 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Latricia becomes the 30th representative of Tanzania in the Miss World competition since the country's initial involvement, marking a significant return after a period of absence.
Flag Presentation
At her farewell ceremony, Latricia was presented with the Flag of the United Republic of Tanzania, symbolizing honor, trust, and the responsibility of representing her nation globally.
New Organizational Leadership
This year marks the first time the Miss World Tanzania pageant is organized by 361 Degrees Africa Limited, led by renowned fashion designer and National Director, Mustafa Hassanali.
Leadership's Perspective
Hassanali emphasized the honor and responsibility of representing Tanzania in the Miss World finals, noting that Latricia has been thoroughly prepared to serve as an ambassador on the international stage.
"Our representative will embody the values of integrity, compassion, and excellence while promoting our culture and showcasing Tanzanian women's capabilities. We urge all Tanzanians to support her," Hassanali stated.
Latricia's Vision
Latricia expressed pride in representing Tanzania, carrying the dreams, hopes, and aspirations of all Tanzanians. She aims to promote Tanzania through her culture, tourist attractions, and her educational initiative, Nuru ya Elimu, under the international program Beauty With a Purpose.
"I carry not just the National flag but also the dreams and strength of every Tanzanian. I will strive to represent my country with dignity, authenticity, and a commitment to bring about change through the Nuru ya Elimu project," said Latricia.
Organizers' Goals and Acknowledgments
The organizers aim to enhance Tanzania's global position by empowering young women through leadership, advocacy, cultural exchange, and the Beauty With a Purpose program.
