The Dodoma City Council has signed a contract for the construction of Chahwa Secondary School, valued at Tsh 3.9 billion. This school will help accommodate students from Chahwa and neighboring areas.
In his initial remarks, the Director of Dodoma City, Dr. Fredrick Sagamiko, stated that the construction of this school will cost 3.9 billion shillings, which includes the building of a " 5-story structure " and dormitories in the second phase.
Dr. Sagamiko added that the current plan for Dodoma City is to build high-rise schools to take up less land instead of spreading buildings over a large area.
In their message, the Chairman of the CCM District and the Mayor of Dodoma City, Prof. Davis Mwamfupe, urged parents and the community of Chahwa to prepare students to take advantage of this opportunity to create a knowledgeable future generation that will positively contribute to society and the nation as a whole.
Additionally, the Member of Parliament for Dodoma Urban, Hon. Anthony Mavunde, has urged the contractor to complete the construction of this school within 12 months of the contract period so that students can benefit from the presence of this local school.
Mavunde mentioned that this school, equipped with modern facilities, will inspire many children to love and prioritize education.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the residents, the Councilor of Chahwa Ward, Hon. Sospeter Mazengo, thanked President Dr. Samia S. Hassan for the construction of this historic secondary school in Chahwa, ensuring that it receives enough students from both the ward and neighboring areas to enable the community to gain knowledge.
