The Deputy Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Office for Policy, Parliament, and Coordination, Dr. James Kilabuko, has officially launched the National Guidelines for 'Business Development' Service Providers.
While speaking at the launch on behalf of the Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), Dr. Jim Yonazi, the Deputy Secretary General stated that these guidelines lay the groundwork for significant changes that will empower small and medium-sized businesses, as well as large enterprises, to grow their operations and contribute fully to the national economy.
"The existence of these guidelines aims to establish standards, direction, and coordination of services provided to entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized businesses in the country, thus arriving at the right time, and we believe it will yield positive results as intended," Dr. Kilabuko said.
He also took this opportunity to commend President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for her efforts in ensuring that the environment for businesses and investors in the country continues to improve.
"I would like to sincerely thank Honorable Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, for her efforts in opening up the economy and stimulating business and investment in the country. " he said
"Our President has enhanced the business environment in the country and encouraged the establishment of many economic activities across various sectors. These activities also require business development services to remain competitive." he added
On her part, the Executive Secretary of the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), Ms. Beng'i Issa, explained that the Business Development Service Guidelines for Business Development Service Providers in Tanzania aim to improve the delivery of business services, including advice, training, technical assistance, skills, monitoring, networking among entrepreneurs, communication, and business management.
"We expect that these guidelines will provide a clear direction for the effective delivery of business services in Tanzania, which can enhance businesses and thus stimulate the economic growth of individuals and the nation as a whole.'' he said.
