The NMB Bank has continued to demonstrate a genuine commitment to being a strong partner for businesses across the country, following a meeting with 120 major entrepreneurs from the Mwanza Region during a dinner event held on August 1, 2025, in Mwanza.
The meeting aimed at strengthening the business relationship between the bank and its key clients brought together senior leaders from NMB, government representatives, and business leaders from the city, where feedback and expectations from all parties were shared openly.
Speaking to the entrepreneurs at the event, NMB's Chief Officer for Personal and Business Banking, Filbert Mponzi, highlighted the bank's significant capacity to serve businesses nationwide, stating that NMB can provide loans of up to over 550 billion Shillings to a single client.
"This is a clear indication of NMB's strength in financial matters and its genuine ability to serve large businesses," Mponzi remarked.
He praised the government for creating a conducive business environment, which he said has contributed to the growth of the private sector and increased demand for financial services.
Mponzi emphasized that NMB is ready to offer various solutions for entrepreneurs, including loans, modern payment systems, and insurance services.
"We have all the essential solutions for businesses. We are well-prepared to serve you, from loans and innovative payment methods to comprehensive insurance, so do not hesitate to bring your needs to us; we are here for you," Mponzi stated.
Describing the bank's achievements, Mponzi mentioned NMB's recognition as the safest bank in the country for three consecutive years by Global Banking & Finance magazine, as well as winning the title of best bank in Tanzania 11 times over the past 13 years from Euromoney magazine.
On behalf of the business community, the Chairperson of the Mwanza Regional Business Association, Gabriel Mgini, expressed gratitude to NMB for their trust and solidarity shown to their clients, even during challenging business times.
"On behalf of my fellow traders, we sincerely thank you for the way you have been close to us. You have been at the forefront of tolerating us, listening to us, and walking with us through all business phases, both in success and in challenges," Mgini stated, adding
"It is clear that for a businessperson to make progress, they must collaborate with a strong bank. NMB has proven to be the right bank for us, despite the presence of many banks in the country; NMB's services continue to be excellent and reliable."
Mgini promised that the businesspeople of Mwanza will continue to use NMB as their close partner in business growth, due to the excellent services and robust cooperation that is being strengthened every day.
At the event, the Manager of NMB Lake Zone, Ms. Faraja Ngingo, stated that businesspeople are a crucial part of the bank's success and that the bank cannot achieve its goals without closely involving its clients.
