ETDCO Celebrates International Women’s Day with a Focus on Rights and Development

Women from the Construction and Rehabilitation Company for Transport and Electricity Distribution (ETDCO) have joined forces with women worldwide to celebrate International Women's Day, which took place today, March 8, 2026, in Mburahati, at the Ice Rink grounds in Dar es Salaam.

The event was led by the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila, bringing together women from various government and private institutions, aimed at honoring the contributions of women to the development of society and the nation as a whole.

This year's celebration is held under the theme: "Rights for women and girls are the foundation for inclusive development towards the National Development Vision 2050."

This theme seeks to encourage the community to recognize the importance of ensuring that women and girls have equal rights and opportunities in education, economy, and leadership, a step that significantly contributes to achieving sustainable national development.

Through this celebration, participants have had the opportunity to discuss ways to continue strengthening gender equality and to motivate the community to engage in removing barriers that may hinder the progress of women and girls in the country.
