Simba has emerged victorious with a score of 3-0 against Fountain Gate in a match of the Tanzanian Premier League held at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
The first goal was scored by the Lusaka star, Clatous Chama, who unleashed a strike during stoppage time (45+6) that left Machupa Kapili helpless, marking his first goal of the season while donning the red jersey of the team from ' Msimbazi.'
After taking a 1-0 lead, Simba returned for the second half appearing more composed in the final third, which allowed Steve Barker's squad to net a second goal in the 53rd minute, courtesy of Libasse Gueye, assisted by Seleman Mwalimu.
In the 65th minute, Simba made two substitutions in quick succession, marking their third change of the match, with Mwalimu and Clement Kibabage making way for Anthony Mligo and Elie Mpanzu, while Inno Loemba had previously come on to replace Neo Maema.
With Simba leading by three goals, they continued to play confidently, creating even more pressure with their attacks, which bore fruit as they scored a third goal, an own goal by Shabani Pandu.
After establishing a 3-0 lead, Barker opted for two more substitutions, bringing in Hussein Mbegu and Morice Abraham to replace Rushine De Reuck and Chama.
These results have kept Simba in second place with 39 points in the Premier League standings, narrowing the gap between them and the leaders, Yanga, from eight points to five.
