AMD unveils new AI PC processors for general use and ' gaming '


AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su commenced her keynote at CES 2026 with an inspiring message about the potential of computing.In line with this vision, AMD unveiled a new range of AI processors, as the company believes that AI-driven personal computers represent the future.

At the annual CES conference on Monday, the semiconductor powerhouse introduced the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor, the latest iteration of its AI-enhanced PC chips.

 According to the company, this new version of the Ryzen processor series enables 1.3 times faster multitasking compared to its rivals and boasts a remarkable 1.7 times increase in content creation speed.

These innovative chips are equipped with 12 CPU Cores, which are individual processing units within a core processor, and 24 threads, representing independent streams of instructions.

Rahul Tikoo, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s client business, mentioned during the company’s recent press briefing that AMD has expanded to over 250 AI PC platforms. This signifies a twofold growth over the past year, he noted.

“In the coming years, AI will evolve into a multi-layered fabric that integrates into every aspect of personal computing,” Tikoo said. 

“Our AI PCs and devices will revolutionize how we work, play, create, and connect with one another" he added .

This marks an advancement from the Ryzen AI 300 Series processor that was launched in 2024. AMD began its journey with the Ryzen processor series back in 2017.
