The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Nape Nnauye has said that the previous information from the service providers of sea cables has said that there is an error in their cables which led to the lack of internet service and international telephone services since 11am in the morning in Tanzania.
“At around five o'clock in the morning, we have witnessed the lack of internet services as well as international telephone services (international Voice), we have received preliminary information from marine cable service providers (submarine cables), Seacom and EASSy, that there is an error on their cables in the sea” Nape said .
“Seacom and EASSy have reported that there is a problem with cables between Mozambique and South Africa that caused the lack of that service in Tanzania” added Minister Nape.
“Efforts to solve the problem are ongoing, either while the solution to the problem continues, access to internet services as well as international telephone services will be low until the relevant problem is solved, sorry for any inconvenience that has arisen” has finished Minister Nape.
